Good bye 2nd Grade...

This Friday is my daughter's last day of 2nd grade. We decided to get her teachers each a personalized coffee mug. We bought them through a fundraising company called That's My Pan. They were a wonderful company and I suggest you check them out!
I CASED this idea from my good friend, Shana Gaff. The flowers were so much fun to create! I attached them to skewers with hot glue. When making these rosettes, the hot glue gun is my best friend! I loved this idea to add a little "SU! Love" to this gift!

Boho Blossoms-Here's to you!

What a wonderful weekend we are having in Indiana! We enjoyed the sunshine while playing outside yesterday. Today I would like to share with you the card I created for the Create with Connie and Mary Challenge this week. Here is the color palette we were to use along with my card...
I love these colors together! Actually I think Pool Party goes with everything....well, almost everything! I the Boho Blossoms Punch to create a cascade of flowers along the edge of the sentiment. I tend to fill the entire space of the cards that I am making so this was fun for me to leave more of the card front open. The Stripes Impressions folder helped fill in the space for my eyes. :) Of course I added the pearls and ribbon for a little extra bling.
Thanks for looking!!

Good Bye Flower Fest

Happy Saturday!! This has been a busy week for me...not in my crafting area though. I was excited to get back into the groove today! :) This card I designed for the colourQ Challenge #137. I always love the fun color combos and inspiration that the designers come up with. I also thought I would highlight one of my favorite retiring SU! stamp sets, Flower Fest as well as the Finial Press Impressions Folder.
I love this stamp set because of its whimsical design. It also goes with many of the punches which makes it fun and easy to use. I also used a technique to give the images a "pearl" effect. I used a sheet of Glossy white card stock and sponged over it with Frost White Shimmer Paint. I let this dry. I then used the sponge daubers to apply the Wisteria Wonder and Tempting Turquoise ink. I wiped off the excess ink with a tissue to allow the "pearl" effect to show through. I then stamped my images and cut them. I had prepared a full sheet of 8 1/2 x 11 card stock a while ago. It makes using this technique easier to use.
My Upline, Shana Gaff, just shared with me an awesome technique she had learned to color the Basic Pearls with Stampin' Write Markers. I covered the Pearls with Modge Podge and let them dry. Then I colored it with the Tempting Turquoise Marker...That is it!! How simple and easy to get a perfectly matching pearl! Thanks Shana for all you advice and tricks! :)

Thanks for stopping today!

Sweet Friend

Happy Mother's Day!! I want to take a moment to thank my Mom!! She is everything I would hope to be as a mother, daughter, Christian and friend! Now that I am a mother I think of the love and patience she has shown me....unconditionally! I love you so much Mom!!

I decided to create a card for 2 challenges this week. This is actually the second card I created but the first just wasn't what I was looking for. This card is for the Create with Connie and Mary Sketch Challenge and well as the colourQ challenge #136. I think these challenges went really well together this week.

Here is my card...
I love the stamps in the Mouthwatering stamp set! They are large bold images and so much fun! This card is made so that the banner that hang over the edge make this a standard sized card. I just love this look! I used the Pennant Die to add a background to the focal image. The stick for the popsicle is made by double punching the Word Window Punch. A no card is complete without a little "spritzer" of color. Other than my Big Shot and Paper Cutter, the Air Spritzer tool is a tool that I could NOT live without!!
This was such a fun card to make for both challenges!
Enjoy your day and Thanks for stopping by! :)

Betsy's Bird in a Nest

Happy Saturday! Iam exctied to show you another sample from the the incolors and new stamp set, Betsy's Blossoms, from Stampin' Up! This is the first "bird" stamp I have owned so I am not quite sure what to do with it. Here is my first attempt....

I love the big bold stamps in this set! I wanted the entire card to resemble a tree with a bird sitting on a branch. The sunshine I stamped off once to allow the sentiment to be read easier. I used the masking technique for the tree and stamped off the branch a couple of times to show some dimension.
When it came to the bird, I just had to give her a nest. I used the Big Shot Adhesive Sheet and double punched with the small oval punch to form a nest. I pplied the adhesive sheet directly to the stamped card stock. I then used Linen Thread to form the nest. I love the texture this added to this card!
Here is a close up...
Thanks so much for stopping by!! Have a great Mother's Day Weekend!!

Betsy's Blossoms *New*

I have finally received my new goodies from Stampin' Up! and and excited to give you a sneek peek of what to expect from the new catalog being released June 1st!! WOOHOO! I have some fun new Ideas for classes and can't wait to share the fun with you!
ok..Back to the goodies! Here is my first attempt with a new stamp set called Betsy's Blossoms...

I used some of the new In colors too! I just love them all! The yellow here is the Daffodil Delight. I just love it with these rich colors. I started doing a very basic card but the more I used the new items the more I added to this card. I also used the Blossom Bouquet punch that will be retiring. For the background I used the masking technique. This card was a little bit of this and little bit of that! I can't wait to try more!
Here is a sneek peek of what is coming tomorrow....
Thanks for Stopping!

Create with Connie and Mary Challenge 200

I have really enjoyed playing the Create with Connie and Mary Challenges the last few weeks. It really helps me to think outside the box and try things I have never thought of trying before. The are celebrating their 100th Challenge this week! Congrats to them! Click Here to see the Challenge
Since this is a special challenge, we are doing a special theme...
  • Make a celebration card
  • Use your favorite designer series paper from the MAIN catalog (before it retires)
  • OPTIONAL: Use a banner or pennant on your card
Here is my card...

When I designed this card, I was thinking of my mom. this will be her card for "Mother's Day." She has began to gain an interest in card making and it is something we enjoy doing together. She prefers for me to come up with the ideas, but she loves learning all the different techniques. We all know how much fun it is to teach somebody something new and watch the excitement in their eyes when they "get it!"
OK...back to the card! :) I tried a new technique using the Labelits die to create an embossed image. I used the silicone rubber mat and  impressions pad with the Big Shot on Tab 1. I was very happy with how this turned out and how easy it was to do. I used a Post It Note to keep the framelit from moving. The Bordering on Romance flowers on the label were stamped off twice.
Thanks for stopping by!

Megan's Butterfly

I love spending as much time as I can stamping and creating. It is a wonderful outlet for me. I do have a job outside the home...I am a dental hygienist...and I LOVE that too! I love meeting people and have made so many lifelong friends. My patients are so gracious to listen to all my endeavors that I begin and Stamping and Scrap booking is something they have been listening to for quite some time.
Well, the other day I had a Mom, Kelly, and her daughter, Megan, visit me. Megan is 4 and a wonderful little girl! When I saw Megan her outfit caught my eye. I thought, "WOW, that would make a fun card!" When we were done with our visit I told Megan that I was going to make a card that would match her outfit and send it to her. She was SO excited! I took her picture so I would remember, and they left. The funny thing is...Mom was not surprised at all at my request! I guess she is used to my craziness! LOL
Here is the card...

This is a great card for me to enter the Gingham Challenge in the Moxie Fab World. This challenge is a first for me. Megan's had gingham shorts with matching butterfles on her shirt. As soon as I say it I was trying to pik out the matching SU! inks. :) I have been wanting to try the gingham technique with the Impressions folder. I used the Tempting Turquoise first then Rose Red the second time. I added the Lucky Limeade with Blending Pens and ink. This worked fantastic! I used Rose Red Seam binding to make the body and antennas of the butterfly. the sentiment was embossed in white.
I am so excited to send this to Megan! I know how much my kids love to get mail!
Thanks for looking!

Little Life

I guess I am on a roll of making baby cards. I have lots of friends expecting babies soon. (You may recognize your cards when you get them. :) ) I am going to miss Fox and Friends but I am so excited to see what great stamp set will replace it! I loved the colors that were chosen for the ColourQ Challenge #135. Here is the card I created for the challenge...

This was a card that I CAS from a stamp camp held by my Up line, Shana Gaff, a couple years ago. I really liked this easy layout, and this stamp set is perfect to create your own background. I changed the colors, sentiment, and accessories and... WAH-LAH! So those of you looking for another sample...Here you go! :)
Tomorrow I am going to share with you a card that I have been thinking about creating for a couple weeks. I know a little girl that inspired this card and I can't wait to share the story! Here is a sneak peek but check back tomorrow for the full story!

Thanks for stopping by!!

Baby Girl Congrats

I was talking to a couple friends and they were going to make some cards for new baby girls in their families. (Patty and Lisa...:) ) They looked on my blog to get ideas but I had not posted a baby girl card yet! So I thought this would be a perfect time to come up with something pink. I had to keep in mind that this needed to be a mailable card so here it is...

The colors I used were Pink Pirouette and Pretty in Pink with Whisper White. It is hard to see but i scored the bottom part of the card at every 1/8 inch to give it some texture. I added the various punched circles then embossed the top using the Square Lattice Impressions folder. I added the smallest Pearls on the Scallop Trim Border. The sentiment is from a retired hostess set, Swirls and Curls Verses. I just love this set and don't think I can ever part with it!
Thanks for looking!

Graffiti Wall

Hello everyone! I am getting so excited to see the new SU! Catalog being released on June 1st. As a demonstrator and am able to get an early peek on May 7th and I can hardly wait! Anyways, lately I have been taking a few Senior Portraits so I decided to CASE a card from Debbie Henderson at Debbie's Designs . (I am also so inspired by Debbie and her creations.) I thought if I could make this look like a wall with graffiti it would be a fun, edgy card for a graduate. Here it is..

This was a perfect card to use extreme elements yet one more time before it goes away. I am sure one of the graduates I know will be getting one of these soon! :)

Thanks for stopping!

colorQ Challenge #133

I decided to try a sunset for this weeks colorQ Challenge. This is normally not the type of card I make but it was fun and easy to create this peaceful sunset.
